Recipient: Leon Draisaitl

To present October’s award, Troy Marchak the owner of Crown & Tower in St. Albert proudly stepped on the ice to award Leon Draisaitl the Molson Cup. Crown & Tower is seen by many St. Albert community members as the heart of the town, offering people a friendly spot for food, drink, and of course a great spot to cheer on the Oilers. With 20 years of ownership, Troy has seen his fair share of Oilers games within the walls of Crown & Tower and loves sharing wins with his loyal patrons.

Winning the Molson Cup for the month of October, Leon Draisaitl led the team with 13 points over the course of the month, registering a point in eight of the team’s first 11 games. He also finished the month top 5 in the NHL in goals, and 2nd overall in even strength goals.

With his $1000 donation on behalf of Molson Coors Canada going to HART – Humane Animal Rescue Team, Leon has chosen to support the rescue, rehabilitate and re-homing of stray and abandoned dogs.

November

Recipient: Connor McDavid

For the month of November, owner of O’Byrne’s Irish Pub, Cathal Byrne presented Connor McDavid with the Molson Cup. Established in 1998, O’Byrne’s is the quintessential Irish Pub and a cornerstone of the Whyte Ave community. Cathal has been around since it’s inception and is proud of the great menu and fun atmosphere he and his staff have been able to create in the heart of one of Edmonton’s most thriving districts.

This month’s award recipient tallied 21 points in just 11 games in November, finishing 2nd in NHL scoring during that time. He also led the NHL in points per game, and became the fourth Oiler in history to tally 1,000 career points.

With his $1000 donation on behalf of Molson Coors Canada, Connor will be donating to The Ben Stelter Foundation – making a positive difference in a children’s lives and the future of pediatric cancer.

December

Recipient: Zach Hyman

With deep Edmonton roots, The Canadian Brewhouse is the original Canadiana Sports Bar boasting locations all over the country. The newly opened Canadian ICEHouse in Edmonton’s ICE District Plaza has been a vital piece of Edmonton’s revitalized downtown and creating a true district surrounding Rogers Place. Presenting the Molson Cup for the month of March is VP of Operations, Alex Dunn. Alex has been with the company since 2012 and plays a pivotal role in the success of the operations at each location across Canada.

This month’s award recipient tied the NHL lead with 10 goals in the month, recording 13 points overall in just 12 games played. Hyman also notched 3 game-winning goals in December, and moved himself into the top 15 all-time in power play goals for the franchise.

With his $1000 donation on behalf of Molson Coors Canada, Connor will be donating to the EOCF’s Every Kid Deserves a Shot program – empowering youth and nurturing resilience through the power of hockey.

January

Recipient: Leon Draisaitl

Sherlock Holmes Hospitality Group has been a mainstay in Edmonton’s pub scene since 1985, known for great food, friendly service, and a welcoming atmosphere. Under owner Richard’s leadership, the locally owned group supports local suppliers, champions sustainability, and gives back to the community. Richard’s passion for partnerships was on display when he helped present January’s Molson Cup, reinforcing Sherlock’s strong ties with Molson Coors and the local sports community.

This month’s award recipient, Leon Draisaitl, led the Oilers in scoring over the month and currently sits first in the NHL in goals. He also moved into the top 5 all time in franchise points for the Oilers, and his 9 goals in the month helped secure his 7th consecutive 30-goal season

With his $1000 donation on behalf of Molson Coors Canada, Leon will be donating to HART – Humane Animal Research Team who through compassion, community and caring, have enriched the lives of over 2,000 dogs.

February

Recipient: Leon Draisaitl

Winning the Molson Cup for the third time in the 2024-25 season, Leon Draisaitl was presented the award by Andrew Paul, Category Manager for Sobeys Liquor. Andrew started with Sobeys in 2009 and has been an integral part of their growth within Western Canada as he plays a key role within the organization. His natural leadership instincts and strategic approach have proven to be a catalyst for the Sobeys Liquor team during his tenure.

With 8 points in 8 games throughout February, it was a no-brainer to award Oilers phenom Leon Draisaitl with this month’s Molson Cup. He surpassed the 40-goal mark for the fourth consecutive season and seems to have elevated his game to another level this season.

With his $1000 donation on behalf of Molson Coors Canada, Leon will once again be donating to HART – Humane Animal Research Team who are 100% volunteer based and rely on a network of foster homes to support dogs in need.
